Most of the youth in the community are unskilled, with limited understanding of enterprise development, basic trading, and how business works. And with no money to get started, they have little hope to gain skills.
Icon Media Studios (IMS) provides the equipment, mentorship, training environment, and positive peer group to give kids the head start they need. Internet and Communication Technology (ICT) holds many lucrative careers and provides skills valuable in many jobs. The alternative is often a life on the streets, without a job, too-often falling into violence and drug use.
This is the only computer training center in the area, and it offers positive change for our community and the nation as a whole. Since Murambi has no electricity, IMS is located in nearby Kidodo community.
The pilot center will train the youth in the following areas:
✓ Microsoft office software
✓ Adobe Photoshop and print media
✓ Computer maintenance
✓ Entrepreneurship and social responsibility
We also provide these services for students and graduates:
✓ Career planning and job placement
✓ Partnership with local businesses for internships, special projects, and curriculum development.
✓ IMS alumni networking for mentorship and job placement
