Parenting Support

There is no one better suited to support your children than you. To succeed at this job, born of love and duty, you deserve access to the best support society has to offer.

I am a parent myself and despite my training and studies in how to create conditions and relationships conducive to what we call attachment security, when I was a new mom I still frequently found myself wondering what to do in some of the harder moments.  This confusion (and sleep deprivation) led me to Hand in Hand Parenting.  It is the road map I needed for getting through challenging parenting moments and has become the most powerful tool I have to support you as a parent.

One of the most challenging parts of parenting is the strong feelings that our children’s behavior can evoke in us.  In working with me you will be supported to examine and heal the ways that your past experiences influence your present ones and learn strategies for managing the powerful emotions.

Coaching, classes, and support groups with me are informed by my background as a psychotherapist and my studies of other prominent developmental psychologists and therapists, as well as by the insight and intuition honed from the years of supporting parents to navigate difficult terrain.

Hand in Hand is an evidence-based practice. It is considered an “authoritative” parenting approach, which means that we emphasize warmth and connection as well as setting limits in a way that strengthens, rather than hurts, your relationship with your child.  You can read more on the Hand in Hand website
