Staff:
I- Staffing Plan
--Currently, MT's Library’s has 1 full-time unpaid Library Director who is a notary.
--By the end of year 3, the library hopes to have the Library Director position as a permanent full-time paid position, but until then it must rely on the many volunteers/interns to help catalog, shelf, teach the different educational and fitness classes, etc. on a day to day basis.
Volunteers/Unpaid Interns
--On top of the regular volunteers from the community, MT’s Library will work with the local court systems to help with any individuals that have mandated community service hours to complete. Each person will use his/her individual skill set in any role needed in the library to include teaching classes, shelving, circulation, etc.
--From Middle Tennessee State University (only 6 miles away), MT’s Library will seek marketing interns within the College of Business, seek early childhood interns for developing and maintaining the children’s programs and overall fitness and wellness interns within the Colleges of Education and Behavioral and Health Sciences, will seek advertising and public relation interns within the College of Mass Communications. Using dedicated degree bound interns, will keep the curriculum and ideas fresh for the library’s patrons to enjoy.
--We will welcome all volunteers except those mandated by law that can’t be around children and families.
--We will do a reference and background check on all people seeking to be a volunteer or intern to keep our library a safe place for our patrons and families.
