Essential Question: Why is it important to protect nature and visit National Parks?
The National Park Foundation began in 1872 with the preservation of Yellowstone. The purpose of a National Park is to keep unique and fragile areas and wildlife habitats safe, to educate visitors, and to provide healthy recreation. Today, there are 63 national parks and hundreds of national monuments. There are 9 national parks just within California! Each provide a wonderful way to learn about and enjoy what nature has to offer.

You will have 4 slides in your presentation:
1) Title slide: Title of the park and one photo that is a really good example of what you will see in the park
2) Your writing: You will write a postcard to Ms. McGreevy (or whoever you like) telling them about your national park adventure. Use your notes from yesterday to create your response.
3) Photo album: Create a collage of photos that show the things you talk about on your postcard.
4) Citation: You will create a citation slide and include the link(s) from where you got your information.
