Welcome! This is for my future classroom. I will be integrating blended learning through lessons, activities, and assessments. I hope to make every school year experience fun, and educational for all my students. This class and blended learning is important to ensure a safe, and respectful classroom environment and to help all my students learn in various ways from online to standard face-to-face. I want every student to enjoy coming to class and to learn something new everyday that they will use in the future or in their present time. I hope I can work with all my students and leave a positive impact on their lives.
I will integrate blended learning by having activities and lessons that are a mix of face-to-face and online. In other words, I will integrate blended learning through Differentiation. I will have standard test and quizzes here and then but will also implement online assessments so that students get adjusted to the different types of assessments. I believe online assessments are better for students to see where they went wrong and what they need to work on. This gives them a chance to improve by showing them where they are struggling. Also, I will have students use ABCmouse during school breaks so that they stay on track of their learning instead of sending them home with homework packets which I know no one enjoys completing. ABCmouse is fun for kids and its also online learning so they will be learning face-to-face- at school and then online during holidays. This allows them to be flexible with their learning. Of course, before I have students use this program, I make sure that they all have access to the internet at home and for those who don't I will provide them with a short homework packet with readings and math problems they will complete. I will use presentations and videos in some lessons and then have regular traditional lessons other days. This helps with the mix of technology learning and standard learning. Those are some ideas of how I can integrate blended learning in my classroom, I'm sure there are more ways that can be implemented.
Skills Training:
There are many skills for both teachers and students that can be used outside the classroom. Most of the skills can be incorporated through online discussions and group projects. Other skills such as Flexibility and adaptability can be incorporated with blended learning as students shift from online and face-to-face instruction.
Pedagogy:
I believe Pedagogy is a common and important method. This is applied when students learn new skills, and learn something new both independently and in class. Pedagogy is more student oriented and can be incorporated by providing opportunities for independent work.
Parent Support
I believe parent involvement is very critical and important for a child's education. It can help students be motivated to work harder and can make sure students stay on task. Ways to incorporate parent support is by informing parents of all student assignments and due dates, communicating with the parents, and making expectations clear.
Student Support
As teachers, it is important to support all our students. Ways to incorporate this is by practicing online activities before they are integrated to make sure students know how to complete them, and those who are inexperienced with online work can be paired with those who are familiar with it so that they can help each other.
Program Evaluation
Program evaluations are always important to make sure the program works best for your students. Ways to incorporate this is by noting how interested the students are in the program and by analyzing how easy the program is to use and access.
Student feedback
Student feedback on anything whether a program, lesson, or strategy is important in understanding how well it worked and whether you should use it again or not. This can be incorporated in blended learning with an online or class discussion.
