Welcome to 8th Grade Music!

In 8th Grade Music, we finish our series of genre studies with Disco, Funk, R&B, and Hip-Hop; then we move on to explore various careers in music. Exploring music careers during this time of transition (getting ready to enter high school) can help students to think outside the box when choosing their life paths in the coming years, as well as open their minds to the various facets of the music industry.

Their 8th Grade year culminates in a reflective project, where students are asked to think back on their months of 8th grade and relate important events or people to a specific song for each month. Students present this project to their classmates, principal, and myself at the end of the year.
