Welcome to 2nd Grade Music!
In 2nd Grade Music, we focus heavily on the rhythmic aspect of music theory: music notes & rests. We learn note and rest names and values, simple time signatures (4/4 and 3/4), and draw connections between music and math using addition, subtraction, and comparison.
In addition to gaining skills in music theory, we also work on singing together as a group, working cooperatively, and singing safely (vocal technique basics).

1. Practice clapping rhythms to a STEADY BEAT using the "Rhythm Workout 1" Worksheet below.
2. Then, click on the blue button that says "Rhythm Symbol Match Game" to practice matching note/rest names and their symbols! At the end, be sure to take a picture of your final score and email it to me!
3. The, click on the other blue button that says "Rhythm Pattern Listening Game." Listen carefully to the rhythm and choose the one you hear! At the end, be sure to take a picture of your final score and email it to me!
