I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Science of elementary education and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts of English in 2017. I recently earned my master’s degree in Elementary Education leading to a professional licensure with a concentration in the application of technology in elementary schools. I became a teacher because I love instilling the love of learning in children at an early age, and I enjoy watching my students make progress from the first day of school up until the very last. After graduating in 2017, I had several different teaching jobs. I was a daily substitute teacher for one year. From August 2018-June 2019, I taught 6th grade social studies and writing to a cohort of 77 students at Sippican School, in Marion, MA. From August 2019 to January 2020, I was a long-term substitute teacher in 3rd grade at Rochester Memorial School in Rochester, MA. My next job landed me back at Sippican School, as the long-term substitute enrichment teacher. At Sippican School, the enrichment teacher taught STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lessons to students in kindergarten through 2nd grade. The enrichment teacher also did enrichment assignments and projects with students in kindergarten through 6th grade. I currently teach 2nd grade at East Fairhaven Elementary School, in Fairhaven, MA. In order to adhere with safety guidelines, I have 12 students in my classroom. Even though learning looks very different this year, I am fortunate to be able to teach my students in person.
