Looking back on Team MASTERY BUILDERS’ face-to-face presentation about formative assessment and grading and reporting, I found it to be a well-prepared and informative discussion.
Their presentation explained how formative assessment helps teachers check students’ understanding during the learning process. I learned that it is not about giving grades but about providing feedback that helps students improve. They also discussed different examples of formative assessments, like quizzes, group activities, and class discussions, which gave me practical ideas for future use.
The team also talked about grading and reporting, which focuses on how teachers summarize and communicate students’ progress. They highlighted the importance of being fair and transparent when giving grades. I liked how they emphasized that grading should reflect what students have truly learned, not just their behavior or attendance.
During the presentation, I appreciated how Team MASTERY BUILDERS used clear examples and simple explanations to make the topic easy to understand. They also engaged the class by asking questions and encouraging us to share our thoughts. This made the discussion more interactive and meaningful.
One thing that stood out to me was their explanation of how formative assessment connects to grading. They showed that when students receive good feedback during formative assessments, they can perform better in their final grades. This helped me see how these two ideas work together to support learning.
Overall, I think Team MASTERY BUILDERS did a great job of explaining the topic. Their presentation gave me a deeper understanding of how assessments and grading can help both students and teachers. It also inspired me to think about how I can use these strategies in my own teaching practice. I’m grateful for their effort and the insights they shared, which will definitely help me grow as a future educator.
