Looking back on Team CALIBRATE’s presentation about using e-portfolios as an assessment tool and communication medium, as well as assessing the affective domain, I found it to be an insightful and well-organized discussion.
Their presentation showed how e-portfolios are not just for submitting assignments but also for helping students reflect on their learning and show their growth. It’s a useful tool for encouraging students to think deeply about their work and share their progress with teachers. They also explained how e-portfolios can improve communication between teachers and students by allowing continuous feedback and dialogue.
Team CALIBRATE also discussed how to assess the affective domain, which focuses on attitudes, emotions, and values. They highlighted that this can be challenging but showed how e-portfolios help capture these aspects effectively. For example, students can use e-portfolios to write about their feelings, attitudes, and personal growth, which helps teachers understand their development beyond academics.
During the presentation, I appreciated how well the team worked together to deliver clear and engaging points. They used examples and visuals to explain their topic, which made it easier for us to follow. The interactive parts of their presentation encouraged participation and made the discussion more enjoyable and meaningful.
The presentation also inspired me to think about how e-portfolios could be used in my future teaching practice, especially in assessing both academic and emotional growth. It showed me the importance of looking at students holistically and not just focusing on their knowledge and skills.
Overall, Team CALIBRATE did a great job, and I’m grateful for the effort they put into their presentation. It was a valuable learning experience, and their insights will definitely help me as I continue my journey as an educator.
