MY REFLECTION: REPORTING
The reporting activity in our class was a great learning experience. Each group presented their topics well, and it helped us understand different aspects of assessment.
The first group, Mastery Builders, explained Portfolio Assessment and its types. Their presentation was clear, and they showed how portfolios can track a student’s progress and showcase their achievements over time. I learned that portfolios are not just about collecting work but also about reflecting on growth.
The second group, Calibrate Group, reported about Performance Assessments or tasks. They emphasized how performance tasks allow students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge through practical application. Their examples made it easier to understand how performance assessments are different from traditional tests.
Our group, Team Smart, presented Performance-Based Assessment, focusing on different types of criteria and rubrics. Preparing for this made me realize how important rubrics are in evaluating student performance fairly and consistently. It also taught us to design clear and specific criteria for assessments.
Lastly, the LYSIS group discussed the Domains of Affective and Psychomotor. Their discussion was insightful, as it highlighted how emotions, values, and physical skills are also important in learning, not just cognitive skills. It reminded me that education should develop all aspects of a person.
Overall, the activity was very informative, and each group contributed something valuable to our understanding of assessment. It also improved our collaboration and presentation skills. This activity made me appreciate the different ways teachers can evaluate student learning effectively.
