Language and Space

The title of the entire project is home away from home and the location is from Amravati. In my neighborhood, I observed the vegetable truck.

So what I observed was that previously the man who is selling vegetables, use to sell them on the pavement but then because of a pandemic the cops did not allow him to sit over there, and also because of the pandemic it is not affordable for him to give the rent of his own house so he shifted his home in his native place that is in the village and therefore, he uses to stay in Amravati for 2 days and then again go back to his village to collect vegetable. Therefore the previous practices of selling and living collapsed into the mobile space of truck.

So I decided on the program which is to provide a comfortable space for the mobile vendor for living and working.

The design syntax which is the size and proportion of the truck derived from the observation and there is also the relationship of the truck to the pavement occurs that how it gets parked and works which is also part of the design syntax.

The site strategy shows how the truck is moving onto the street throughout the day.

The design is based on the design syntax of the proportion of truck where I made three steps and on the tread part of the steps where I made hollow boxes where he could put his vegetable and the drawer which are removable to manage vegetable waste. The folding ladder is used to get access to the 1st floor.

In AXO the design is placed into the truck and on the 1st floor, there is a bed for resting purposes and a shelf.

There is also a 3D overview of the entire project.

After post-COVID, the space can be used as the same as it is because it is cost-effective and space-saving OR the steps are removable so it can be removed and place on the pavement as it is before.
