Material - Fibers- Paper and fevicol (experiment 1.1), Binders - moong dal 

Process 

Fibers

1. Take a sheet of paper used to make paper bags which is 145cms in length and 55cms in breadth.

2. Cut them into smaller pieces and soak them in water for 3-4 mins.

3.  Grind them in a grinder and spread it for air drying so that it becomes almost like powder.

4. Take 500gms of the powder and almost the same amount of Fevicol and mix it to form a dough-like consistency.

5. Set it well in a mold to gain perfect geometry and remove the mold after 10-15 mins.

Binders

1. Take 3 cups moong dal and boil it using a pressure cooker.

2. Make a paste out of it.

3. Add corn starch to it and mix it well.

4. Add water to the mixture and set it well in a mold.

5. Layer them one above the other

Observations:

1.  Since all the three-layer were wet, it took time for drying.

6. Leave it for drying

1. Take 3 cups of fenugreek seeds and boil them using a pressure cooker.

2. Make a paste out of it.

3. Add corn starch to it and mix it well.

4. Add water to the mixture and set it well in a mold.

5. Layer them one above the other when the paper layer dries completely

Observations:

1. A Combination of  paper and fevicol in almost the same proportion  formed a rigid solid after 24 hours

2.  Fenugreek seeds when soaked in water become sticky and the paste consistency spreads easily.

Material- Fibres- Paper, Binder- Fenugreek seeds ( dana methi )

Process

Binders

1. Take 450-500 gms of fenugreek seed i.e. dana methi.

2. Grind it well to make it in powdered form.

3. Add water in a 1:1.5 ratio to make it like paste as when required.

Fibers

6. Leave it for drying and let it dry completely

Observation:

1. The composite of sawdust and fenugreek seed paste is hard when dried completely but a few cracks are observed on the surface of the sheet.

2.  Fenugreek seeds when soaked in water become sticky and the paste consistency it spreads easily. 

Using the same process of layering 

Decreasing the thickness of each layer and increasing the number of layers and binder layers tried giving it a curved geometry

Material- Fiber- newspaper, Binder- Moong dal

Process  

Fibers

1. Take a newspaper and soak it in water for 3 hrs.

2. Take a moong dal and boil it using a pressure cooker for 15min.

3. Grind newspaper and moong dal using grinder make a smooth paste out of it.

4. Mix both of them by adding a small amount of water to them.

5. Put the mixture into the mold which is 40cm by 20cm.

6. Dry it using the dryer.

Binder 

1. Boil the moong dal and mix it well using a small amount of water.

2. Apply the mixture on the Dried sheet of paper and dal.

3. Layer all the 3 sheets.

Observation:

1. After drying the sheets become thinner.

2. Then after applying the mixture of dal for layering it becomes heavier.

Material: Paper pulp and moong dal.

Fibers:

1. Take a newspaper and soak it in water for 3 hrs.

2. Take a moong dal and boil it using a pressure cooker for 15min.

3. Grind newspaper and moong dal using grinder make a smooth paste out of it.

4. Mix both of them by adding a small amount of water to them.

5. Put the mixture into the mold which is 40cm by 20cm.

6. Dry it using the dryer.

7. When it gets half-dried, mold it.

8. Again keep drying after molding it till it gets fully dried.

Observation :

1. When it gets fully dry the color becomes darker.
