Every month I will provide a choice board for your child to select a fun activity to use with their 'words to know' list.
Your child will have a journal that they can write in each day what their homework will be. The word list is for them to be able to read and select words that we have covered in class. There will be no test or spelling test. At the end of each unit in Phonics, we will have a dictation to see what they are retaining. Each week I will share the skill we are learning.
The choice board will be in a protective sleeve. Please do not take it out or write on it. Use any line or plain paper to complete any activity.

All about our Phonics
We just completed our first Unit 1 'Dictation". We have 5 sounds, 5 words, 5 mark ups, 2 trick words and 2 lenthy sentences for more words with specific skills and 5 more trick words. For Unit 1, I modeled and prompted and assisted. Their grade will be generouts being that it is their very first one and there was a lot of test taking skills introduced. Now, we are beginning Unit 2. At the start of each unit I will include a family letter explaining which skills we will be learning and practicing. Feel free to ask me any questions. Your child should be able to use skills taught to read, and write words fluently.
