ROUTINES & PROCEDURES

Dear Parents and Students, I would like to inform you about my classroom's daily routines, procedures, and expectations.

*School should be a safe learning environment for all.

* Students are expected to take responsibility for their behavior, both academically and socially.

Arrival and Beginning of Class Procedures

When you enter the classroom everyday, you need to do the following:

1. Enter the classroom quietly.

2. Turn your homework into the homework bin, sharpen pencils and pick up any supplies before the bell rings.

3. Sit in your assigned seat before the tardy bell rings.

4. Take out your school materials and supplies (e.g. pencils, red pen, black pen, eraser, textbook, workbook, novel, worksheets)

5. Get started on the warm-up.

6. Work quietly until further instructions. (Books Managers will pass composition books at this time.)

Tardy Procedure

If you are late to class, you need to do the following:

1. Enter the classroom quietly.

2. Bring your tardy pass from the office and place it in the designated tray.

3. Take a classroom tardy slip, fill it out and place it in the designated tray.

4. Quietly join the rest of the class. If you are unsure of what we are doing, read the daily agenda on the board.

Restroom Procedure

If you have a restroom emergency, you need to do the following:

•ONE person may leave the class at a time

1. Follow the “Hand Signal's” procedure and wait for acknowledgement.

2. You must sign-out in the Restroom Sign-out sheet, including the date, your name, the class period, and the time you left the room.

3. Take the Hall Pass and walk silently to the bathroom. (NOTE: There is only one Hall Pass. Check the board to see if it is available.)

4. Return to the classroom in a timely manner and write the time you returned in the Restroom Sign-out sheet.

5. Quietly walk back to your seat and continue working.

Visitor in the Room

If a visitor comes in, you need to do the following:

1. Stay in your seat and continue to follow our classroom rules and routines.

2. Continue working quietly. If we are working in groups, use your Level 2 voice. (Small group work. Only your partner and/or group can hear.)

3. If I am in the middle of teaching and a visitor comes in to speak with me, continue working on your assignment.

THINGS TO DO IF YOU ARE DONE WITH YOUR DAILY ASSIGNMENTS
