Project Goals:

Over the course of this year we will be studying the direct and indirect effects of geography and climate on civilizations throughout the world. To begin our study, I want you to create your own island based on whatever theme you find most interesting. You could, for example, create an island that's built around the theme of Pokemon, Fortnight, unicorns, or almost anything else.

Include the following in your map:

1. A compass rose
2. At least three cities, including one capitol
3. At least two rivers
4. A name for the island
5. A legend/key showing what different symbols mean
6. A scale line showing the relationship between an inch on the map and the "real world measures"
7. 12 other geography key terms from the list included below
