We find basis in the following ethical principles of the educational process when working with a school dog:
- We respect and take into consideration the needs of all the participants of the educational process, including the dog.
- We consider the safety of all the participants at all times.
- We encourage participation of all students in the cognitive, social, emotional and motor development.
- We bear in mind fear and hesitation can occur, that is why the participants themselves choose how much contact to have with the dog, if any.
- We respect the input of each participant in the group work.
- We regularly include reflection and self-reflection into our work to ensure the best quality of the educational work.
