The 1^st Malaysia Percussion Festival 2017 will be held from 16^th June 2017 to 18^th June 2017 (Friday - Sunday) at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac)'s Pentas 2, Indicine and The Lawn, which is located in Kuala Lumpur.

This year's festival will include numerous workshops, ensemble performances, ensemble experience, clinics, community drumming, outdoor marching percussion talk, concerts, competition, etc.

The mission of the Malaysia Percussion Festival is to promote and foster musical diversity through education and community building.

By joining the workshops and concerts, one can listen to the rhythm of his/her own body, apart from the voice of the drum. Pay attention to how they harmonize and intervene. Also, listen to the collective sounds of the drumming community and revel in it! We produce art to explore the undiscovered worlds within ourselves and to share these with others. We hope the Malaysia Percussion Festival will help you experience the beauty of drumming as we take you through this wonderful journey.

Come and experience a creative environment where percussionists and artists from around the globe gather here to explore, create and make music together. The festival will be hosted by CK MALLET Enterprise with the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) as the co-presenter.

Twelve international artistes will collaborate and perform music from various original compositions during the Artiste Concert on 16^th June 2017(Friday) . There will be workshops, clinics, talks, etc. on Saturday and Sunday, apart from the Grand Concert performance by the Percussion Ensemble Of National Symphony Orchestra(PENSO), Canossian School Percussion Band(Singapore), Punch Percussion(Taiwan), Max Riefer(Germany), Iskandar Rashid(Singapore), Tan Su Yin, Yon Nian Shee, Yap Siu Yan, Chia Cheng Kok(Malaysia), etc on Saturday evening. They will be the facilitators as well as judges for the Competition Concert on Sunday afternoon.

There will be an audition for the Malaysia Percussion Festival Ensemble (MPFE), which will be held on 15^th April 2017. For more information, please click here.
