After scavenging for beautiful leaves, branches and flowers, students learn how to create prints using cyanotype paper, sunlight and water.
Students participate in a photography activity in which they have the opportunity to use DSLR cameras to capture the beauty that surrounds them. They consider what makes a composition by experimenting with close-up and long-distance frames. They are able to borrow these cameras throughout the trip to capture their time at Point Reyes.
Using found sticks, feathers and shells, students weave their own dream catchers to take home with them.
Students learn about the Japanese tradition of Suminagashi as they use ink to create colorful swirls floating on water. They then capture their water paintings on paper that is later incorporated into their Clem Miller Journals.
