Privacy

Privacy is respected in our library. It is important to keep the records of our patrons private. Everyone should feel safe to check out whatever they want without being judged. 

Work Space

You are permitted behind the circulation desk only during your class period as a LSS

Job Responsibilities in order of priority

1. Customer Service: If a student or staff member needs assistance, make sure they are helped first. Refer to the library staff as needed. 

2. Circulation: Check in all returned books and place on carts according their their assigned aide's section. Shelve the books in your assigned section.

3. Daily Shelf Reading: You should be checking the shelves in your section daily. Make sure all books are shelved correctly (fiction-within their genres & alphabetized by author and nonfiction-by DDC). If possible, each shelf should have a book or two faced out on display. All book shelves should be free of trash.

4. Walk Through: Walk through the library and push in chairs, pick up trash, and replace any items out of place. 

5. Other duties: After all your daily duties have been completed, make sure to ask if there is anything else that needs attention. Look to Mrs. Cabrera or Mr. Nunez for any other help you may offer them in their duties. At times they will have projects you may help with. You may read or work on other class assignments when everything else has been completed.
