1. History
CCEM started a long time ago, its first version was built in 2008-2009 from a collaboration between Paul Caseau, Yves Caseau and Bruno Martin.
CCEM is written with CLAIRE. 2020-2021 was spent to rebuild the CLAIRE compiler as a better foundation using the Go language.
CCEM v3 was developed in 2022
CCEM v4 was developed in 2023
Summer 2024 has seen the new CCEM v5 version, which evolved into CCEM v6 end of 2024.
2. About Yves Caseau
Yves Caseau is Michelin Group CDIO, in charge of Digital and Information Systems. He is also a member of the National Academy of Technologies, where he was elected in 2005, and has held the role of president of the digital group and the editor of three NATF reports on the energy/CO2 impact of ICT (2013), the paradigm shift of Big data (2015) and the renewal of Artificial intelligence (2018). He has been a member of the scientific councils of EDF, INRIA and IRT SystemX. Before joining Michelin in 2017, he was AXA Group Head of Digital, responsible for the development of innovative web and mobile experiences, as well as the digital coordination of Information Systems. Yves Caseau has been Bouygues Telecom’s Executive Vice-President in charge of Technology, Services and Innovation from 2007 until 2013, following his tenure as CIO from 2001 to 2006. He has taught the “Information Systems Theory and Practice” lecture at Ecole Polytechnique for three years and is a frequent speaker on information systems architecture. Yves Caseau has spent the first part of his scientific career – which started at Alcatel-Alstom – on software engineering, object-oriented programming and artificial intelligence. He then turned to operations research in 1990, first at Telcordia (New Jersey) then later at Bouygues, which he joined in 1994. A former student of the "Ecole Normale Supérieure" (82), he holds a PhD in Computer Science from Paris XI University (87) and an "habilitation (HDR)" from Paris VII University (95), as well as a MBA from the "College des Ingénieurs". Yves Caseau has worked for two decades on complex system modeling and evolutionary game theory, with applications in the mobile telecom industry as well as the systemic simulation of smart grids. Since 2008, he has applied his complex system methods to the issue of societal reaction to global warming, in the context of economy/climate earth models (IAMs). He is the author of four books about information systems, lean management and enterprise organization.
