(1) KNU Definition
One of the major effect of global warming is through damages of the physical assets.
The other is the loss of productive hours of the labour forces. There are multiple influence paths:
demotivation, as work conditions become more difficult, both physically and psychologically
loss of productive hours, because of strikes or unrest
loss of productive hours, when the weather conditions makes the productive assets unavailable : floods, heat waves, etc.
Notice that the actual loss of population is covered with the Population Impact KNU #8.
This factor represents the combination of two beliefs :
how many hours will be lost ?
how much does it matter in a world where robots and AI will carry an increasing part of the productive load ?
In the future, this KNU could be a timeline that explains how the factor (productivity loss / relative pain increase) evolves in time, according to automation.
(2) What the slider in G2WS does ?
This slider allows to adjust a factor that transforms pain into loss of productivity.
The default value is 0%, since we have no serious for calibration yet.
This illustration shows the complete set of system dynamics links between pains, including global warming pain, and GDP.
It is also use to illustrate the PopulationImpact KNU.
