(1) Policy Definition
Energy efficiency is the additional gain that we can expect from new technology ans associated investments. By definition Energy is a KNU, defined at the zone level. The default is 0 (some savings is already integrated in the dematerialization curves used by CCEM.
Energy efficiency is defined for each zone. CCEM assumes that energy savings investments are profitable, the key unknown is how much potential for savings is there.
(2) What the slider in G2WS does ?
The slider simply changes the level of investment made by a geopolitical zone towards energy efficiency.
Levels between 0 and 50 means that search for additional efficiency will be triggered by pain.
Levels between 50 and 100 means that some investments are made from the start.
When you change the slider, the control KPI is the total amount of energy saved, expressed as a percentage, and computer as an average from 2010 to 2100.
