How Educators can Facilitate Collaboration with Quizlet

In using Quizlet, educators can facilitate collaboration through designing learning activities in which students collaborate to create their own study sets.

Educators are easily able to create study sets for their students within Quizlet's user interface. Educators can take this one step forward by having their students design study sets of their own. Through group collaboration in designing, testing, and revising their own study sets, students can engage in meaningful learning that deepens their understanding and retention far more then possible through simply participating in educator created study sets. In designing these learning activities, educators must create clear objectives and learning outcomes for their students to sufficiently grasp the purpose and importance of their creations. This exposure can lead to student and group inspiration for their own creation. Within the creation process, groups can share their works-in-progress with their classmates and their teacher, testing and revising their own designs. Through this capability, educators can encourage students to design content in which they actively play a role in, authentic to their own interests. Through design of their own study sets, students and teacher are able to each play different roles, at different times throughout the entire process.
