Carlos Rios Perez is an Assistant Professor in the Energy and Mechanical Engineering Department at the Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia (UTEC) and Associated Researcher in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University. He is a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. His current research interests are: 1) Investigating current and new concentration processes in artisanal gold mining, 2) Developing energy storage systems for climate control applications, and 3) Developing sensors for soil analysis in agricultural applications. Dr. Rios Perez leads UTEC`s activities in the SEAS Harvard – UTEC collaborative program and teaches the undergraduate Fluid Mechanics course to students from four engineering majors.
