MocheUTEC seeks to expand the current understanding of ore processing and extractive metallurgy. We firmly believe that comprehending the nature of these processes is the first step towards devising strategies to enhance their environmental and economic sustainability. Through our research, we aim to characterize the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of ores and minerals, to later use the acquired knowledge for designing concentration and hydrometallurgical processes. Additionally, we are interested in delineating schemes to reutilize or properly discard generated effluents and solid tailings.
To be recognized as a versatile and multidisciplinary research group in which members aim to collaboratively address challenges in the mining sector. We seek to become renowned for our impact in dealing with national and international issues involving the ecologic and technical sustainability of metallurgical processes. Simultaneously, we expect to contribute in developing our region as a scientific axis by transforming Peruvian students into researchers.
