Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) integrate mechanical and electrical components on a microscopic scale, enabling the creation of ultra-compact and highly efficient devices. By utilizing advanced fabrication techniques, MEMS have revolutionized a wide range of industries - most notably in sensors, actuators, and microfluidic systems. Their unique capability to merge mechanical structures and integrated circuits within a single chip leads to enhanced performance, reduced power consumption, and cost-effective mass production. As a key enabling technology, MEMS continues to drive innovation, shaping the future of fields such as healthcare, automotive, consumer electronics, and beyond.

In parallel, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in optimizing system performance and enabling intelligent control. Our laboratory is dedicated to exploring and combining AI with MEMS, creating a powerful synergy that drives further industrial advancements and opens up new frontiers in data processing, sensing, and actuation. By utilizing both AI and MEMS, we aim to develop next-generation intelligent devices that not only learn from their environment but also adapt in real time, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in these rapidly evolving fields.

MEMS(Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)는 미세한 기계적 구조와 전자 회로를 하나의 칩에 통합함으로써 초소형이면서도 고효율적인 장치를 구현할 수 있는 핵심 기술로, 센서, 액추에이터, 마이크로유체 시스템 등 다양한 산업 분야에서 활용되며 성능 향상, 저전력 소비, 대량 생산의 이점을 제공합니다. 최근에는 인공지능(AI)이 시스템 최적화와 지능형 제어에 점점 더 중요한 역할을 하면서, 우리 연구실은 MEMS와 AI를 융합하여 데이터 처리, 센싱, 제어 분야에서 새로운 기술적 지평을 열고자 합니다. 이러한 융합을 통해 환경으로부터 학습하고 실시간으로 적응하는 차세대 지능형 시스템을 개발하고 있으며, 관련 분야에 열정과 관심을 가진 대학원생들의 적극적인 참여를 환영합니다.
