Opening Still Available For Fall 2025
In Secret Stories with Group 1, we looked at the super hero vowels and sneaky Ys.
In Math Games with Group 1, we played Dominoes working on counting, and matching skills.
In Science and Wonder with Group 1 and 2, we are experimenting with magnets. We also talked about poles, experimented with iron filings, and read a story and decided how many paperclips each magnet could hold (one was 132!, Wow)
In Music and Movement Gr 1-2.5, we listened to Guitar music, learned and sang a Hello song, wrote a new verse for If You're Happy and You Know It (using synonyms). We also read Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar, explored the instruments we have, played Who Stole The Cookie from the Cookie Jar and learned the song The More We Get Together.
In Spanish with Group 1-2.5 we are getting ready to start a new program using puppetry, story lines, and a lot of songs.
In Art with all groups, we are making paper in different colors!

In Fairies and Gnomes with Group 2, we reviewed the -air family, talked about the -ack family, read a story How the Fairies Came, then worked on our Fairy Houses. We will be building our Fairy Houses for the next several weeks.
For Math Games and Puzzles with Group 2-2.5, we are working on mental math (adding to 10), adding with borrowing and carrying for some and place value for others (both for some). We played add to 10 Go Fish. Have the kids teach you how to play at home.
In Chemistry Fun with Groups 2.5-3.5, we learned about Atoms (protons, neutrons and electrons), Quarks, and basic measurement (mass, weight and volume) so we can talk about the idea of density. We also made Atom cookies.

In Math with Group 3.5, we continued with Mad Minute Math, doing division and worked on equivalent fractions. We then played Fraction Spoons and Multiplication Spoons.
In Literature and Ethics Group 3-3.5, we are reading A Grain of Rice, working on vocabulary, and learning about Chinese Culture (this week we made a bean porridge and a scallion pancake.
For Math Riddles, Logic and Games with Groups 3-3.5, we are continuing to learn about logic and chess.
For Tea and Reflections with Groups 3-3.5, the word was Honesty! We discussed Honesty.

In Chemistry and Cooking with Group 4, we continued working on solutions, solvents and solutes. We made Honey Lemonade and started watching all things about coffee (Is it a solution?, we will find out).
In Spanish with Group 4 we are starting off strong with a project focusing on different hispanic countries and are working on speaking aloud, translating things, and focused on interrogatives this week.

In Movement with Group 1, we are learning about Irish Dance per students' requests. We started by learning some of the basic movements and practiced jump roping to stay strong on our toes.
In Number Games with Group 1, we continued working on patterns and grouping for addition.

In Spanish with Groups 1-2, we started working on our mini ofrendas (altars) for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). PLEASE send images of your ancestors if you'd like them to be honored as part of our larger ofrenda at the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Eureka.
In Art with All Groups we started making lanterns to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.

The older groups are designing an experiment with Elephant's Toothpaste (an exothermic reaction between hydrogen peroxide and yeast).

In Movement with Groups 3-3.5, we are focusing on meditation and mindfulness and we read an article called "The Power of Pets" after the students identified pets as being soothing to our nervous systems last week. We hung out with a snuggly kitty for the day and watched a 5 minute mindfulness video and set intentions afterwards.
In Math Riddles, Logic and Games with Groups 3-3.5, we continued learning about Chess and math.
In Tea and Reflections with Groups 3-3.5, our word of the week is Forgiveness.
In Spanish with Groups 3-4, we presented what we learned about various Hispanic countries.

In Chemistry and Cooking with Group 4, we continued our analyses of coffee and looked at how roasting affects the chemical components before we visit a local coffee roaster next week.
In Debate Group 4 debated "Chickens are the best emotional support animal" and "Pancakes are better the waffles", focusing on debate structure.
In Literature Group 4 is finishing reading "Kite Rider"
