Why have a class AUP?

An Acceptance Use Policy (AUP) is an important tool that is used in my classroom to ensure safety for the students along with the school district. This policy allows the students to use technology as a part of their education without approaching or being exposed to inappropriate or dangerous sites that may include bullying, violence, pornography, and much more. It is significant that students are held to a standard regarding technology in both the classroom and the household, and this also establishes a foundation of rules that will teach the child to be compliant and responsible on the Internet.
