"You will never stumble"

Here we face mistranslation that itself causes stumbling...

...because it falsely presents the New Testament as contradicting itself.

The Ancient Greek text has an alternative translation that does not involve Biblical self-contradiction.*

Note also that self-contradictions are created when Bible versions read σκάνδαλον as "stumbling-block" and σκανδαλίζω as "to cause to stumble", in for example Matthew 18 and Psalm 119. These Ancient Greek terms refer to trapping and being trapped, which is not the same as stumbling or tripping.
