CPR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT

The EMT Program at Miramar College strongly recommends that all student take the EMGM 50A CPR course, regardless of previous/current certification. This course is only $23.00, which is much cheaper than other locations. We also target this course for students about to take the EMGM 105A, and prepare you to succeed in the class, while obtaining CPR certification.

All students are required to HAVE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE CLASS SESSION, a BLS PROVIDER CPR certificate. This is a non-excusable California State requirement for EMT students. This is also important as apart of employment as healthcare employers require specifically a:

BLS PROVIDER certificate,

HEALTHCARE PROVIDER certificate,

PROFESSIONAL RESCUER certificate,

LIFEGUARDING: CPR/FIRST AID/AED

You MUST get this certificate directly through:

OR

  • American Red Cross

WARNING:

Miramar College EMT Program does NOT accept CPR certificates from 100% online courses. NO EXCEPTIONS. It must be specifically the certifications listed above. Please assure you pick carefully when taking a CPR class. If you have ANY doubts about the certification that you may already have, email a picture of it to one of the EMT faculty immediately, HERE.
