Storytelling is all about giving your world a theme.
The theme could be superheroes, your favourite book, or Christmas, or a country like Eygpt or Brazil.
Make sure two things are linked together by your theme.
Think of it like a build battle - more ideas for themes: Toys, Pokemon, mobs, Chemistry, Building Site, Theme Park, Tokyo, Cars, Camping, Pirates
Using narrative in any way the player wishes, take the current player through a
simple story or scenario. There should be at least three different scenes or places
within the world that link to the overall theme of the story/scenario.
Example, create three scenes from Jack and the beanstalk, or share three traditions
associated with Chinese new year, along with an explanation of each scene in the
world.
Teach something through a story using Minecraft - this is an open project but the
expectations are that the world:
Has at least five different points of learning
Is themed practically - not everything has to be themed but there should be an
overall feel that matches the learning.
There should be one interactive element in the story - perhaps a choice that the
player has to make, or a redstone interaction that maybe fires up a volcano, or
even just opens a door to a new area to explore.

Create a roleplaying world!
It is upto you what you create, but it should have enough in the world that a few people can join and act out their own story. Some examples include: A supermarket, a hotel, a water park, a castle, an airport, a train, a campsite or a school.
The build should include some NPCs and should have a few details that fit in with the story of your world.
Choose a famous event or time from history, or create a prediction of a future event. The world
should be a learning opportunity for someone joining your world, with facts and information about what happened and what led up to the events that you create.
You could recreate - ancient Egypt, Mayans, world wars, a political speech, a sporting achievement, a technology discovery (like the wright brothers) The great fire of London, the American Civil War and so much more.
Or predict climate change and how it affects certain place. Make sure you use lots of NPCs and posters and signs!
Combine your adventurer skills and storytelling, with an interactive story!
Create three different paths, so that as a player, you decide what to do next in the story. Then use commands to teleport to different areas of the map to carry on the story. Perhaps you decide to go to a desert to find lost treasure, perhaps you go hunting for animals in the jungle, whatever you choose, the story carries on with you as you try to find your way to the end.
Use NPCs or buttons to make choices, and build two or three different end scenarios based on the player's decisions.
In this build, there doesn't have to be amazing creativity in your building, just your story.
