Minecraft Badging - The Badges

There is currently a total of 9 badges to earn for your Minecraft Education Edition skills, and each of these is broken down into two sections, emerald and diamond. Each of these sections has three stars to earn. So, for example, if you want to attempt the diamond section of the Commander badge, you must have earnt three stars in the emerald section first.

Each level can be earnt by demonstrating, with evidence, that you can successfully complete the expectations as listed below. Some of these challenges involve a screen recording or teacher to see it being done live, some of them require a much longer build, with a world to export and share, and some will require using the specific tools and blocks given in Minecraft Education Edition only, such as the portfolio, camera and element blocks.

The requirements are available in full via the links below, or take a look at the example to get an idea, Remember that some of these are subjective and awarded at the teacher's discretion. In other words, a teacher has the last say in if you have achieved a certain level.

Example Criteria

Stage One:

Evidence of completing at least three tutorials from the MakeCode coding support. The code should be saved (by screenshot or otherwise) for each tutorial, plus the teacher needs to see the code work in action.

Stage Two:

Use programming to turn your player into some sort of superhero!

The player should have at least three capabilities that a normal player cannot achieve, even with potions.

e.g., super jump power, super strength, ability to teleport (not using tp command), to walk through a wall, to summon lightning, to turn everything to gold, to summon animals, and much more...

Stage Three:

Agent time! Your agent needs to be able to perform certain tasks on commands given by you, you will need to practice your coordinates knowledge!

The tasks include moving your agent to a certain place, make him build a wall and to check if there is ore in front of him.
