EMERALD
Show your knowledge of the basic commands in Minecraft.
Invite a teacher to your world, or to watch your screen and then complete at least
three of these challenges:
teleport a player to a certain coordinate (somewhere not dangerous!)
make the weather change
Turn worldbuilder on and off
give a player an object
remove (kill!) all entities (all mobs)
If you make a mistake - you have to start again (so three commands in a row must
be correct!)
Show how to use an NPC in the game or a command block instead of typing a slash
command.
An NPC will have some options when you talk to it and something should then happen as a
result of the command block or NPC with a command. Nothing specific, so it can be simple.
Example: an NPC that gives you a diamond, or a command block that teleports you to a
certain area.
This is achieved through a particular world challenge:
This contains five challenges that are explained in the world.
This is assessed by either joining or playing in the world as the player, and going through the
activity and checking that it works.
DIAMOND
For the first badge level in diamond, you will have to show an understanding of using command
blocks hidden away in your world.
Command blocks can have a huge impact on how a world functions, and for this first challenge, you
should have at least five command blocks that are not triggered directly, but through other actions,
such as a redstone trigger or an NPC event. The command blocks here don't have to have much
complexity, you can have some splash text or give the player something, but there should be an
action on screen activated, without ever seeing the command blocks in the world.
For a two diamond commander badge, you are going to have to demonstrate that you understand
how to use chain and repeat command blocks. This world is not about how fancy it looks, all you
need to provide is three examples of using chain blocks (one with at least two chains within the
command) and two examples of repeat blocks.
The important part of this challenge is that there should be explanations written using posters or
boards about how these blocks work and how you have created them.
Create a marketplace!
In this final challenge, you need to create a real working marketplace with at least four shops that
can buy and sell based on how many emeralds you have.
The command blocks can be used to check if you have enough emeralds in your inventory and then
give you the item you need if you do. Don't worry! There are plenty of tutorials to help with this
challenge, but you have to create this world from scratch. Good luck!
