Pay attention to your internal emotional ecosystem.
Receptive: Notice (and perhaps name) the emotions you experience at different times and in response to different events. What emotions do you most readily and frequently experience? How intense are your feelings? How quickly do your emotions change? Do you experience mixed emotions?
Active: Focus on a particular feeling or emotion. This could involve recalling times when you have experienced that feeling or attempting to recreate that feeling in the present.

Pay attention to your urges, incentives and desires, the needs and goals that energise and drive you.
Receptive: Notice the urges and impulses that you experience. To what extent do they exert an attractive or repulsive force on you? What patterns can you perceive in the nature and strength of your motivations?
Active: Focus on the experience of a particular motivation or need (perhaps one you want to develop or one you want to overcome — e.g. be more motivated by compassion or less motivated by envy).
