Hi there!
MindBoost is a space where teens can come together to share real, honest recommendations for self-help that supports mental health. All posts on the site, are insights shared from teens who’ve been there and get it.
Our goal is to make it easier to find things that actually help and to know what doesn't help. It’s all about genuine support, real stories, and self-help that makes a difference.
⚠️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️
Please note the information shared on this site is based on insights and experiences by individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges. These insights were collected from a thesis study between January 2026 to August 2026.

Hi, I’m Beth Hart, a Trainee Psychologist from Lancaster University. As part of my thesis, I’m exploring what kinds of self-help materials best support teens with their mental health-based on the views of the teens themselves.
Through survey feedback and discussions with teens, I’ll be gathering suggestions and looking for common themes to better understand what really helps and what doesn't. All responses are completely anonymous and confidential- no post or survey response will be able to be linked back to you. A summary of the study results will be shared here and can be emailed to people who request them, and I hope to publish them in a research paper too!
Your input could make a real difference—not just to this research, but to other young people looking for support. It’s a chance to turn your experience into something that helps others feel less alone. Also, take part and you have a chance at winning a £20 gift voucher! 🎁
Got something that’s helped you or someone you know with mental health? We’d love for you to share it to support the study and/or post it to this website. Just follow the link below to fill out a short, anonymous survey. You can answer the survey through video, audio clips or written responses- as long as it follows the simple community guidelines.
You can also have a chat with the lead researcher if you'd rather, you can do this by selecting "If you would like a summary of the results of the research when it has finished, please provide your name and an email address (if not leave blank)" or if you'd rather just chat about your experiences instead of completing the survey, you can email b.hart3@lancaster.ac.uk directly.
Every submission is reviewed before being added to the site, so we can make sure it’s safe, supportive, and useful for others. Your recommendation could be exactly what someone else needs-and every single one helps us grow the study and website to support more people.
If you are under 16 years old, you will your parent/carer will need to give you permission to complete the survey or/and have a chat to the researcher. The survey will ask for a parent or carers contact number for me to call to check this.
See the survey link below to share your suggestion:
We value your patience- the pages below will take some time to be filled as the study collects responses.
