Karate has been a large part of shaping me into the person that I am. When I first entered Mike Hess Karate School, around 1980, I was looking for a place to work out, train hard & sweat. The more I learned inside the dojo the more I realized I didn't know about life. I continued to train & study martial arts under Sensei Mike Hess off & on since that life changing day in 1980. Martial Arts brought me through some challenging times in my life & helped me learn how to keep my mind calmer when under pressure. I began to understand the need to know how to fight was secondary to being able to resolve conflicts. The relationships formed inside the dojo are forever. We can depend on each other & call upon each other. We are family. Forever OOAK with MHK.
