Texture Based Normal Map – using Photoshop
I created a black and white version to use as a bump map (Right), and then processed it through Photoshop’s normal map tool to use as a normal map (Left).
I created a low poly plane (2 polys) and then a high poly plane (1301000 polys) which I sculpted to make a pattern. I then used baking/transfer maps to create a normal map I can use on the low poly one.
