MCITY Updater 2.0

The MCITY Updater 2.0 makes it simple to find, install and keep the MCITY Toolset up-to-date.

A package is a Folder located in $MCITY. the Folder Structure Represents a default Houdini Configuration.

otls: Contains All Houdini Digital Assets included in MCITY

toolbar: The Custom Shelf s

ico: Icons used for HDAs

scripts: Python Widgets and other Scripts such as this updater.

python_panels: pypanel files for loading Python Widgets in Houdini Panels.

examples: Hip File Examples

radialmenu: Custom Radial Menus (used for Draw Tools)

config: Additional Icons for Python Widgets, Houdini Themes, Custom Viewport Background Themes etc.

gallery: Mostly DevKit Presets

tex: Base Texture Library

The Tool will Download each Package as ZIP File within $MCITY and extract them at that location! Do not Change the Install Directory when you dont plan to change $MCITY too.

Todo:

Add Checker if Install dir is different to mcity and if so open houdini.env for editing path manually.
Could use patchhoudinienv() from old updater but seems not that perfect.

loop thru list for saving config.ini so we can add custom packages like (texture_lib2 etc)
Add Debugger

Notes:

Stores a LocalTimeVersion in config.ini to compare with ftps TimeStamp of the package. If for some reason an update did not work but the LocalTimeStamp has been set for some reason (probably a bug in the tool so report it) the Tool will not be able to update the package since it thinks the LocalTimeVersion. The config.ini can be deleted to reset all local time stamps. ($MCITY/scripts/python/mbMicroCity/updater_config.ini)
