I've been in a lot of bands. I mean: a lot of bands. And had a lot of musical/recording projects besides.
I've played every common rock instrument there is at some point or another, but could only be considered remotely competent at drums and vocals. (Though I'm very partial to keyboards as well, even if it's largely single-fingered, and I've sometimes had to "cheat" by playing at a slower tempo and speeding it up later!)
My first band was The Wretched Villains, a friend's goth-rock project that was crying out for a live drummer. Guess I was the only drummer he knew! Alas, my ego was far too bloated to be sated by a mere drummer's seat, which led to a number of projects of my own...of which only three were to see the live stage. I've released no end of EPs and albums, though, many of which I'll link in this section.
I've also written a lot of lyrics. What can I say about my lyrics? Hmmm, well...I'll be kind to myself, and say that my writing has certainly "improved" in the years since. I mean, I'm proud of some of these efforts, and will reproduce a handful here. But on the whole, I'm well aware that "poetry" has never been my forte. Perhaps I'm a tad too literally-minded to be as cryptic as most music fans demand. Just think of me as the anti-Dylan, and decide what that means to you!
It's mostly in the past now, but that's not to say I'll never write another note or line again. I'm still doing instrumental stuff, and might even torment the world with further lyrics sometime between now and death. We shall see! As of this writing, music's mostly on the backburner for me; hence its diminished status in this page's line-up, despite being one of my most prolific fields of activity to date.
