On Wednesday we have our Field Trip & Picnic to Edgewater Beach Metro Park to watch the Race Team's compete in the Cleveland Race Week Jr. Sailing Regatta. Please print, sign and return your permission slip on Tuesday.
Campers will wear their camp t-shirts (which we will give to them right ahead of pictures). MHYC Member and amazing pro photographer Ellie Vayo will be taking the photos. You can choose to get individual pictures of your camper with a camp/race team boat that they are primarily using this summer, or the Hobie. We will also take a "team" photo of their group, and also an entire camp photo.

Join us for a great evening with your sail camp friends and parents as we set to rasie money to help our Advanced Race Team get to Junior Championships at Put-in-Bay, raise funds to purchase more RS Fevas, and help grow our program!
What a week! ShipShape Week is all about moving beyond the basics to develop a respect and appreciation for the boats, gear and the skills gained while at camp. We focussed on the details and learned to put everything in its proper place, leave spaces cleaner than you found them and add style to your tidiness.
The weather was much more enjoyable this week and we got out on the water every day this week!
We were lucky enough to have lunch on the East Beach twice this week which was a fun change to the routine and gave our sailors extra docking practice.
The Edgewater Beach Field Trip & Regatta was a ton of fun as we waved to our Race Teams and watched the start of the regatta. From the sounds of it, we have quite a few campers interested in sailing the MHYC Junior Olympics Regatta next week! Early Bird registration ends on June 24th. We are so proud of all of our Opti & Advanced Racers. Congratulations to Andrew, Ethan and Keagan for winning the Thistle class and props to Riley, Adler and Ella for pulling in third!
We ran the Shipshape Olympics on Friday, testing everyone's skills in rigging and de-rigging. They had relays and races and boasted about their boat tidiness!
North Cape Yacht Club Regatta on Saturday was fun event for our two thistles "Shameless" (2nd) and "Circulate" (5th) and two of our C420 teams! It was a long haul and after 2 regattas this week, our Opti and Laser teams decided to re-charge their batteries this weekend.
Our Camp T-shirts are ready and we will have our Picture Day on Monday! Please wear Khaki shorts so that we all match. Attached is the form or here is the link to order your own photos and keepsakes: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B12uB_4pQbYDOC1SLU1xa0toLXRiSkVCUFBIRmlsRFRycnpj/view?usp=sharing
