Small Powerboat Skills REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Have you wanted to learn how to drive a powerboat but don't know where to start? 

MHYC's certified US Sailing Instructors will provide you with the course to earn your Ohio Boater's License, and, once licensed, provide one-on-one "in-boat" instruction in our program Whalers. You'll gain the confidence and skills necessary by practicing on a real boat!

This program is open to MHYC Members and the community. Participant must be the age of 10 through Adult at the time of the course. 

Ages 10 - Adult

Ohio Boater's License Course (On Land)

When: Tuesday July 15, 10a to 4p

Take the course to earn your Ohio Boater's License (required for all powerboat operators born after 1982).

Small Powerboat Skills Session

When: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 16-18, 1.5 hours each day (3 hours total)

Once you have earned your Ohio Boater's License, you will be eligible for our Powerboat skills sessions, where you will learn practical skills on how to start, dock, and cleat off a powerboat on a MHYC Whalers. Lifejacket safety, passenger safety, rules of the road and radio skills will also be taught. Choose your  1-hour time blocks each day to work with our instructors. Bring your lifejacket and a lunch!

Boater's License Class ONLY $25 Members, $45 Non-Member.

Powerboat Skills In-Boat Sessions (2) 1-hour sessions (Must have valid Ohio Boater's License) $130 member, $175 Non-Member.
