Moran holds a M.A. in Environmental Studies from Tel Aviv University and a B.A. in Humanities and Social Sciences from Ben-Gurion University. Her master's thesis focused on the effects of low pH and increased carbon dioxide on the nutritional compositions of seagrasses, which serve as important marine ecosystems.
Moran investigates the invasion pathways of foraminifera species and the ecological vectors that facilitate their spread, focusing on interactions with seagrasses, algae, and marine megafauna such as sea turtles.
