Sasha holds a B.Sc. in Geology and M.Sc. in Petroleum Geology from Saint Petersburg State University. She really loves animals (she has five cats at home) and nature, and is especially inspired by mountains and forests. In her free time, Sasha plays volleyball, appreciating the combination of physical activity and teamwork. She also likes traveling and trying new dishes from different cuisines of the world.

Studying sea-level variations during glacial-interglacial cycles, particularly the Last Glacial Maximum, on the continental shelf of the Mediterranean is essential for reconstructing past climatic conditions and predicting future changes. The aim of this study is to investigate the transitional areas between the shelf edge off-shelf submerged deposits using geophysics, modeling, and sedimentological approaches to define and reconstruct environmental changes in past low-stands compared to present high-stand. With guidance from parallel work in the modern/shallow shelf by my supervisors, I plan to compare the nature of depositional history in this cycle. Results may include critical records like drought phases, tsunami events, and changes in productivity or resource availability.
