Dafna Eliyahou is currently a M.Sc. student in the Department of Marine Geosciences at the University of Haifa. With a diverse academic background spanning physics, water sciences, and marine geoscience, she is passionate about exploring new interdisciplinary fields. Her current work combines her love for diving with scientific research, allowing her to delve into unique underwater environments and uncover insights about natural hazards and environmental change.
M.Sc. in Water Sciences (2021-2025), Tel-Hai Academic College, Qiryat Shemona, Israel
B.Sc. in Physics (2011-2014), Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel
Supervisors: Beverly Goodman-Tchernov and Roy Jaijel
Dafna's research examine the movement and burial dynamics of dummy munitions on the sandy inner shelf of the Eastern Mediterranean. Using high-frequency accelerometers, environmental sensors, and divers surveys, the study directly links environmental thresholds and mechanisms to munition fate. The findings provide new, field-based insights relevant to regional UXO dynamics.
