Gabriel obtained his bachelor’s degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos, and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Ibadan, both in Nigeria. His B.Sc. project was on engineering properties of soils and rocks in Rayfield Jos, within the Younger Granite Ring Complexes, and his M.Sc. research was on thin beds reservoir identification, an approach to subsurface development using well logs and 3D seismic data, within the Niger Delta Basin of Nigeria. As a field geoscientist and environmentalist, he worked briefly as a geography instructor, a geoscientist at a services company, and a research assistant supporting postgraduate and undergraduate students at the University of Ibadan. Gabriel is a registered Earth Scientist and member of professional associations, including NMGS, NAPE, COMEG, EAGE, and AAPG. His research interests include interdisciplinary studies, environmental policy (EIA), basin evaluation, field mapping and integrated approaches to research. He is adventurous, plays videos games, keep tabs on tech/IT, like sports generally, and is interested in leadership and new challenges.
M.Sc. in Geology (2014-2016), University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria
B.Sc. in Geology and Mining (2006-2010), University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria

Gabriel's current research is on macro- and micro-plastic in the Mediterranean Sea. This research will focus on delineating the paths of the plastics’ arrival to the Mediterranean, and possibly their identification and quantification using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and sediment samples recovered from the Mediterranean Sea.
