Hello! My name is Michael Williams (Mikey). I am an 18 year-old weather enthusiast, and meteorology student, who does videography and photography of thunderstorms and other atmospheric phenomena. While chasing and spotting, I report severe weather occurrences and damage to help communities and others stay safe. I also do independent research on severe weather and am aiming to do field studies on it.
Notable Milestones in Meteorology
Spring 2023, 2024, & 2025 2nd and 3rd place weather broadcast winner for Student Television Network national convention!
I aired my first two pieces of storm footage to local and national news; a monstrous supercell in June, and a derecho in July, both in 2023.
My first paper, focusing on the process of convergence and shear-induced non-mesocyclonic significant tornadogenesis. 2024-2025.
