Goal for children: Every child is developing a sense of self, health, and well-being.
Program expectation: Early childhood programs nurture children’s healthy development and support their growing sense of self.

This directly correlates with our Standard III: Safety, Health, and Well-Being in the Learning Environment as it states in the subsection "B. Knowledge that RECE's: Are familiar with a variety of strategies to promote and support children’s well-being and safety in the learning environment including, but not limited to, nutrition and physical, mental and emotional health. " (CECE, pg. 12, 2017). Please note that the foundation of Well-Being is highlighted throughout many other standards and practice guidelines throughout the document.
