After a period in general psychiatry, Ainslie Meares, MD DPM specialised in medical hypnosis. He hypnotised patients so deep that some could not speak and so he communicated using methods that were incorporated into Art Therapy. This and other work became internationally recognised. Meares' 500 page text book "A System of Medical Hypnosis" is shown above. Then, he found something that was more effective than all these methods and he transitioned to teaching only Stillness Meditation.
