14th Jan. 2021, How can business survive climate change
Maybe we should consider moving the Environmental study out from the PESTEL Context analysis to internal analysis. It does not only show our respect to the environment since climate change has impacted to company's tangible and intangible assets directly. Furthermore, the carbon tax can be directly linked to COGS to a certain extent.
A company should not argue, why we need to adapt to the Paris agreement. The question should be how to grow a greener company in a profitable and sustainable way. The best scenario is at the quadrant of Less emission and Higher profit, which is low-hanging fruit for most of the company. What quadrant is your company located in?
12th Jan. 2021, Coal power with CCS
Coal, as a source of power, still plays a vital role in electricity generation. About 37% of the electricity generated was from coal worldwide today. While renewable energy sources are catching up in the next decades, we should also focus on the short term how to "wash" the coal power industry to be less impact on CO2 emission.
Based on the World Coal Association, the average efficiency of coal-fueled power plants is 37.5%. If this was raised to 47.5%, which is possible with today’s technology, this would reduce global emissions by two gigatons, equivalent to eliminating the ASEAN region’s 2017 carbon emissions from all fossil fuels.
The ready technologies mentioned above include the Carbon Capture Use and Storage (CCUS), and the map shown below is the major CCS facilities in the world. Here are more projects of CCS facilities you can find at, https://co2re.co/FacilityData

8th Jan. 2021, Hydrogen in aiviation industry.
The first plane fueled by hydrogen has been aloft 70 years ago in Florida under a secrete project, named Suntan. Now, using this type of green energy “Hydrogen” in the Aviation industry is being revitalized by combining different technologies such as fuel-cell, lithium battery, and refined hydrogen combustion engine.
Given the much higher energy density of hydrogen (compared to the regular kerosene and lithium battery), hydrogen has been recognized as one of the greenest energy solutions for the aviation industry.
One of the creative solutions from Airbus employing hydrogen combustion engines and fuel-cell technologies at the same time in an aircraft design. The hydrogen-burning turbine engines boost take-off, and fuel cells power the cruise.
We will see all the industry sectors thrive in green energy solutions through new technology innovation and continuous evolution.
